Faith Build Guide
A Faith build in Dark Souls III: The Ringed City leverages Miracles for both offense and defense, while also utilizing weapons that scale with Faith or have Faith-based weapon arts. This build offers excellent self-sustain through healing miracles and can deal significant damage with offensive spells, especially against certain enemy types.
Key Attributes:
- Faith: Your primary offensive and utility stat. Aim for 40-60 Faith to maximize the potency of your miracles and the scaling of Faith-based weapons.
- Vigor: Crucial for survival, especially when casting spells which can leave you vulnerable. Aim for 30-40 Vigor.
- Attunement: Determines the number of spell slots you have. 18-24 Attunement is a good starting point for having multiple offensive and utility miracles equipped.
- Endurance: Important for dodging and executing weapon attacks. 20-30 Endurance is generally sufficient.
- Strength/Dexterity: Invest just enough to meet the requirements for your chosen weapons.
Recommended Weapons:
| Weapon | Location/Acquisition | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sunlight Straight Sword | Obtained by ranking up in the Sunlight Covenant. | Excellent weapon with a powerful weapon art that buffs attack and defense. Scales well with Faith when infused with a Blessed Gem. |
| Yorshka's Chime | Found in Irithyll Dungeon (requires killing Sirris's phantom if she's dead). | Offers the highest spell buff for miracles at high Faith levels. |
| Carthus Flame Arc | Found in the Catacombs of Carthus. | A pyromancy that can be cast on weapons, providing temporary fire damage. Useful for Faith builds that lack innate elemental damage. |
| Ringed Knight Spear | Found in The Ringed City. | While not directly Faith scaling, its weapon art can be effective, and it can be infused with Blessed gems to gain Faith scaling. |
Recommended Miracles:
- Great Heal: Essential for self-sustain.
- Lightning Spear/Great Lightning Spear: Your primary ranged offensive miracles.
- Sunlight Blade: A powerful weapon buff that adds lightning damage.
- Dorhys' Gnawing: Inflicts bleed buildup, effective against many bosses in The Ringed City.
- Sacred Oath: A powerful buff that increases attack and defense for you and allies.
Armor and Rings:
Prioritize armor that offers good elemental and physical defense. Rings that enhance miracle casting or survivability are key:
- Ring of the Sun's Firstborn +3: Greatly boosts the power of offensive miracles.
- Ring of Favor +3: Increases HP, Stamina, and Equip Load.
- Morne's Ring +3: Increases the power of all miracles.
- Chloranthy Ring +3: Boosts stamina recovery speed.
Combat Strategy:
Your combat style will involve a mix of melee and spellcasting. Use your melee weapon for close-quarters combat and your miracles for ranged attacks, healing, and buffs. Be aware of your FP (Focus Points) and ensure you have enough Estus Flasks (Ashen) to sustain your spellcasting. In The Ringed City, many enemies are resistant to certain damage types, so having a versatile arsenal of miracles and a reliable weapon is crucial.
