Embarking on a New Game Plus (NG+) cycle after completing The Ringed City DLC will present a familiar yet significantly more challenging experience. All enemies, including those within the DLC areas, will have their health, damage output, and resistances increased. This applies to standard enemies, mini-bosses, and the main bosses of the DLC: the Demon Prince, Halflight, Spear of the Church, Darkeater Midir, and Slave Knight Gael.
The core gameplay mechanics remain the same, but the increased difficulty means that strategies that worked in NG will need to be refined or adapted. Resource management, such as Estus Flask usage and spell conservation, becomes even more critical. Furthermore, any items, weapons, armor, or spells you acquired in your previous playthrough will carry over, allowing you to utilize your established builds. However, new item drops will be identical to the previous cycle, meaning you won't find new unique gear unless you missed something in your initial run.
Key Differences in NG+:
- Increased Enemy Stats: Higher HP, damage, and defenses for all foes.
- Boss Difficulty Amplified: The DLC bosses will be considerably tougher.
- Item Carryover: All your gear and consumables transfer.
- No New Item Drops: Loot remains the same as the previous cycle.
- Soul Yield Increased: Enemies drop more souls, aiding in leveling.
NG+ is an excellent opportunity to test your mastery of the game's mechanics and your build's effectiveness against the toughest challenges Dark Souls III has to offer.
