Quality Build Guide
A Quality build in Dark Souls III: The Ringed City is a versatile and powerful approach that invests equally in Strength and Dexterity. This allows you to effectively wield a vast array of weapons, providing flexibility in your combat approach and weapon choices. Quality builds excel with weapons that have good scaling in both Strength and Dexterity.
Key Attributes:
- Strength & Dexterity: Aim for a 40/40 split in these stats. This ensures you can meet the requirements for and maximize the damage of most weapons in the game, including many found within The Ringed City.
- Vigor: As with most builds, Vigor is crucial for survival. Target 30-40 Vigor to withstand the increased damage from enemies in the DLC.
- Endurance: A good Endurance stat (25-35) is vital for sustained combat, allowing for more attacks and dodges, which is especially important given the challenging nature of The Ringed City's encounters.
- Vitality: Depending on your weapon and armor choices, you may need to invest a few points into Vitality to maintain a medium roll (under 70% equip load). 10-20 Vitality is often sufficient.
Recommended Weapons:
| Weapon | Location/Acquisition | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lothric Knight Sword | Dropped by Lothric Knights in Lothric Castle. | Excellent all-around sword with good reach, speed, and scaling in both Strength and Dexterity. Can be infused for further optimization. |
| Black Knight Sword | Dropped by Black Knights in various locations. | Deals bonus damage to demons and has a powerful weapon art. Scales well with Strength but benefits from Dexterity. |
| Claymore | Found in the High Wall of Lothric. | A classic greatsword with a versatile moveset, good reach, and solid damage. Scales well with both Strength and Dexterity. |
| Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords | Found in The Ringed City. | A unique weapon with a devastating weapon art that can stagger and deal massive damage. Requires significant investment in both Strength and Dexterity. |
Armor and Rings:
Choose armor that provides good physical defense without exceeding your equip load for a medium roll. Sets like the Knight Set or Cathedral Knight Set are good options. Essential rings include:
- Ring of Favor +3: Increases HP, Stamina, and Equip Load.
- Chloranthy Ring +3: Boosts stamina recovery speed.
- Prisoner's Chain: Increases Vigor, Endurance, and Vitality at the cost of increased damage taken.
- Hornet Ring: Sificantly boosts critical damage (backstabs and ripostes).
Combat Strategy:
The Quality build's strength lies in its adaptability. You can switch between one-handed and two-handed stances to alter your moveset and damage output. Use your reach to control engagements and your balanced stats to overcome a wide variety of enemy types and resistances found throughout The Ringed City. Don't be afraid to experiment with different weapons as you find them, as your build can support most of them effectively.
