Soul Farming Spots
In Dark Souls III: The Ringed City, souls are as vital as ever for leveling up your character, purchasing items, and upgrading your gear. While the DLC itself offers challenging encounters, it also presents opportunities for efficient soul farming, especially as you become more familiar with the areas. These spots are particularly useful for preparing for boss fights or for acquiring the necessary souls to purchase specific items.
Early Game Farming (Near the Dreg Heap Entrance):
Once you've accessed The Ringed City, the area just outside the initial bonfire in the Dreg Heap can be a decent early farming spot. The group of Hollows and the two Lothric Knights that patrol this area can yield a respectable number of souls. The key here is to be quick and efficient. You can lure the Hollows one by one and then deal with the Lothric Knights. The proximity to the bonfire allows for quick resets.
Mid-Game Farming (The Ringed City Streets):
The Ringed City Streets bonfire offers access to a more lucrative farming route. From this bonfire, you can head out and engage the group of Hollows and the two Ringed Knights that patrol the area. The Ringed Knights, in particular, drop a good amount of souls. The trick is to manage their aggressive attacks. You can often lure one away, defeat it, and then deal with the other. Alternatively, if you have ranged capabilities, you can pick them off from a distance.
Advanced Farming (Near the Shared Grave Bonfire):
For a more challenging but rewarding farm, consider the area around the Shared Grave bonfire. This area is populated by several powerful enemies, including Ringed Knights and other formidable foes. The key to farming here is to have a build that can handle these enemies efficiently. For instance, a build focused on Bleed or Frostbite can quickly dispatch the Ringed Knights. The large number of souls dropped by these enemies makes this a highly efficient, albeit riskier, farming spot.
Boss Soul Farming (Post-Game):
After defeating the final boss of The Ringed City, you can revisit the boss arena to farm souls. While you cannot re-fight the boss directly without entering New Game Plus, the enemies that remain in the area can still be farmed. This is particularly useful if you need souls to purchase items from the Handmaid or other vendors.
Tips for Maximizing Soul Gain:
- Use the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring: This ring significantly increases your item discovery rate, which can indirectly lead to more souls if you sell unwanted items.
- Equip the Symbol of Avarice: This helmet boosts soul acquisition but drains HP over time. Use it in conjunction with the Ring of Restoration or a healing spell to mitigate the HP loss.
- Use Gold-Edged Coins: These consumable items temporarily boost your item discovery rate.
- Focus on High-Soul Enemies: Prioritize enemies that drop the most souls, even if they are more difficult.
- Practice and Efficiency: The more you practice a farming route, the faster and more efficient you will become. Learn enemy patrol patterns and optimal attack strategies.
By utilizing these soul farming spots and employing efficient farming strategies, you can ensure you have the resources needed to tackle the toughest challenges The Ringed City has to offer.
