Dark Souls III: The Ringed City

Walkthrough

Guide your journey through The Ringed City, the final Dark Souls III DLC, starting after defeating the Soul of Cinder and accessing the Kiln of the First Flame.

Navigating The Ringed City

The Ringed City, the final downloadable content for Dark Souls III, presents a sprawling and interconnected series of environments that will test even the most seasoned players. To begin your journey, you must first have defeated the Soul of Cinder in the main game and accessed the Kiln of the First Flame. From there, an item known as the "Dark Soul of Londor" (obtained by following a specific questline involving Yoel and Yuria of Londor) will allow you to interact with a phantom object, transporting you to the new area. Alternatively, if you have defeated Sister Friede in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC, you can find the "Slave Knight's Ashes" near the Cleansing Chapel bonfire, which will allow you to speak with the Handmaid and purchase the "Teleportation" item, leading you to the Ringed City.

The initial area, the Dreg Heap, is a chaotic jumble of ruins and debris, where you'll encounter new enemy types and face challenging platforming sections. Key bonfires to look out for include the "Earthen Peak Ruins" and the "Dreg Heap" bonfires, which serve as vital checkpoints. As you progress, you'll eventually reach the titular Ringed City itself, a more structured but equally perilous environment. Here, you'll encounter the Ringed Knights, formidable foes that require careful timing and observation to defeat. Keep an eye out for the "Ringed City Streets" bonfire, a crucial landmark as you delve deeper into the city's secrets. The path forward often involves intricate level des, with hidden passages and shortcuts that reward thorough exploration. Be prepared for ambushes, environmental hazards, and a significant increase in difficulty compared to the base game.
