Yhorm the Giant is a colossal boss encountered in the Profaned Capital. While his immense size and power might suggest a conventional boss fight, Yhorm is designed with a unique mechanic that makes direct combat with standard weapons incredibly inefficient, if not impossible. The key to his defeat lies in utilizing a specific weapon found within his arena.

Boss Strategy

The arena for the Yhorm the Giant boss fight contains a Greatsword known as the Storm Ruler, which is strategically placed near his throne. This weapon is absolutely essential for defeating Yhorm. Players must equip the Storm Ruler and two-hand it. The Storm Ruler possesses a unique Weapon Art (activated by pressing L2/LT on most controllers). When activated, it charges a powerful gust of wind. Releasing the button unleashes this gust, which deals significant damage and, more importantly, staggers Yhorm. The strategy involves running to the Storm Ruler, equipping it, and then using its Weapon Art to charge and release the wind gust. After staggering Yhorm, You can then close the distance and land a few hits with any weapon they prefer, though the Storm Ruler itself can also be used. Repeat this process: charge the Storm Ruler's Weapon Art, release it to stagger Yhorm, and then attack. It is crucial to manage your stamina during this process, as charging the Storm Ruler consumes a considerable amount. Yhorm's attacks are devastating due to his size, including massive slams and a fiery explosion. Players must learn to dodge these attacks while also positioning themselves to effectively use the Storm Ruler. The fight is essentially a puzzle that requires understanding and utilizing the Storm Ruler's unique ability to overcome Yhorm's overwhelming physical presence. There are no significant weaknesses to exploit with other damage types, making the Storm Ruler the sole viable path to victory.
