Understanding Resistance & Vulnerability

Master resistance and vulnerability mechanics in Darkest Dungeon II to optimize damage output and protect your heroes in combat.

·Multi-source verified (85/85)

Every enemy and hero has resistances to Bleed, Blight, Burn, Stun, and Move. Pay close attention to these in combat. If an enemy has 80% Bleed resistance, don't waste turns trying to apply Bleed. Instead, focus on their vulnerabilities or raw damage. Conversely, if your hero has low Blight resistance and you're entering The Foetor, prioritize trinkets or Inn items that boost that resistance. Exploiting enemy vulnerabilities and shoring up your own resistances is a fundamental aspect of advanced combat strategy.
