The DayZ UI provides critical information about your character's status. Learning to interpret these icons and meters is paramount to staying alive.

Key UI Elements:

  1. Health Bar (Heart Icon): Represents your overall health. If it drops to zero, you die. Damage, illness, and starvation reduce health.
  2. Blood Icon: Indicates blood loss. If you're bleeding, this icon will flash. Bandage immediately!
  3. Hunger (Stomach Icon): Shows your hunger level. Green means full, red means starving. Eat regularly.
  4. Thirst (Water Droplet Icon): Shows your thirst level. Green means hydrated, red means dehydrated. Drink regularly.
  5. Temperature (Thermometer Icon): Indicates your body temperature. Blue means cold, red means hot. Stay within the green range to avoid hypothermia or hyperthermia.
  6. Sickness (Pill Icon): Appears when you are sick. Different colors and animations indicate different ailments.
  7. Stamina Bar (Running Man Icon): Depletes when sprinting, jumping, or performing strenuous actions. Regenerates when resting.
  8. Inventory (Tab Key): Your primary interface for managing items, equipping gear, and crafting.
  9. Quick Slots (1-9): Assign frequently used items for quick access.
  10. Chat Window: Displays server messages and player communication.

Pay close attention to the color and animation of these icons. A flashing red icon means immediate attention is required. Green indicates a healthy status.
