As you accumulate more gear, you'll need a place to store it safely. A temporary camp or buried stash can serve this purpose.
- Stashes:
- Buried Stash: Use a shovel or pickaxe to bury a drybag, wooden crate, or backpack. Excellent for hiding valuable items.
- Location: Choose remote, inconspicuous locations away from common paths and landmarks.
- Temporary Camp:
- Tent: Small Tent, Car Tent, or Military Tent. Provides significant storage and shelter.
- Location: Requires a flat, open area. Be aware that tents are visible and can be raided.
Strategy: For early-game, a buried stash is safer and easier to set up. As you gather more resources, consider a small tent in a very remote location. Remember, nothing is truly safe in DayZ.
