The Ishimura is a dangerous place. These tips will give you a fighting chance against the Necromorph threat. Remember, dismemberment is key, and resource management is paramount.
- Dismemberment is Key: Don't aim for the head! Necromorphs are vulnerable to limb dismemberment. Severing their arms and legs is the most effective way to kill them and conserve ammo.
- Conserve Ammo: Ammo is scarce. Use your Plasma Cutter's horizontal and vertical fire modes strategically. Melee attacks and stomps are excellent for finishing off downed enemies or breaking open containers.
- Utilize Stasis: Stasis is your best friend. Slow down fast-moving Necromorphs, create openings for dismemberment, or disable environmental hazards. Upgrade Stasis early.
- Master Kinesis: Kinesis allows you to manipulate objects. Use it to throw environmental hazards at enemies, retrieve distant items, or solve puzzles. It's also great for conserving ammo by throwing severed limbs back at Necromorphs.
- Explore Thoroughly: The Ishimura is full of hidden resources, logs, and upgrades. Explore every nook and cranny. Look for glowing containers and wall lockers.
- Upgrade Strategically: Power Nodes are rare. Prioritize upgrading your Plasma Cutter's damage and capacity, and your RIG's health and Stasis module.
- Save Often: Save stations are your safe havens. Use them frequently, especially after difficult encounters or before entering new areas.
- Listen Carefully: The game's sound design is exceptional. Listen for Necromorph growls, scuttling, and environmental cues to anticipate threats.
- Don't Be Afraid to Retreat: If you're overwhelmed, retreat to a more defensible position. Funnel enemies into chokepoints.
- Stomp Everything: Stomp on fallen Necromorphs to ensure they're dead and to collect any dropped items.
