How to Beat Infector

The Infector is a new Necromorph type encountered in Chapter 2, "Intensive Care." This enemy can transform corpses into new Necromorphs, making it a priority target in any encounter. Understanding its behavior and weaknesses is crucial for efficient combat and resource management.

Infectors are dangerous Necromorphs that reanimate corpses. To beat them, prioritize eliminating them quickly before they can transform any bodies. If they do reanimate a corpse, you will have to fight two Necromorphs instead of one. Aim for their wings or head to incapacitate them swiftly, preventing them from creating additional threats.

  • Encounter Location: The first encounter with an Infector is in the Autopsy Room during Chapter 2, "Intensive Care," when attempting to retrieve Captain Ben Mathius's Rig.
  • Pre-emptive Strategy: Before entering the Autopsy Room, it is highly recommended to stomp on the limbs and heads of any corpses in the Morgue. Use Kinesis to pull corpses off tables if necessary. This prevents the Infector from reanimating them.
  • Combat Strategy: When an Infector appears, focus all your firepower on it immediately. Its primary threat is its ability to create more enemies. Disabling its wings can prevent it from flying and make it an easier target. Aim for critical weak points like its head or the sacs on its body to dispatch it quickly.
  • Consequence of Failure: If an Infector successfully transforms a corpse, that corpse will become a new Necromorph that you must also fight, increasing the difficulty and resource drain of the encounter.
