Deal with the Hunter

Dealing with the Hunter is a critical challenge in Chapter 5: Lethal Devotion. This Necromorph cannot be permanently killed, as its limbs regenerate quickly. The strategy involves dismembering it, using Stasis to slow its regeneration, and then trapping it in a Cryo-Pod. This encounter requires precise timing and resource management.

To deal with the Hunter, first fight your way to Cryogenics and collect the Liquid Nitrogen Tank. Once you have the tank, the Hunter will appear. Dismember its limbs where you picked up the tank. Immediately use Stasis on the Hunter to slow its rapid regeneration. While it is slowed, quickly run to the Cryogenics Control Room and initiate the Cryo-Pod to put the Hunter into cold storage.

Before this encounter, you can acquire the Line Gun. After the Emergency Room situation, restore power to ER Hallway A and enter. Use Level 2 Security Clearance to open the door to Emergency Equipment Storage. Inside, you will find the Line Gun and Line Gun Racks. A Node Crate is also located in this storage room (Power Node #24). If accessing this room is too stressful before the Hunter encounter, you can return later.

After restoring life support to Medical at the Security Station, sell the Ruby Semiconductor. This should provide enough Credits to purchase the Ricochet Tracer Weapon Upgrade for 11,000 Credits. If you have additional Credits, consider purchasing the Gellified Hydrazine Weapon Upgrade for 11,500 Credits. If you purchase both upgrades, take them to the Upgrade Bench in Diagnostic Technician to receive two free Power Nodes (Power Nodes #25-26).
