Workbenches and Stores are your essential hubs for managing your inventory, upgrading equipment, and purchasing supplies. They are typically found near save stations and tram stations.
Workbenches:
- Function: Used to upgrade weapons and Isaac's RIG suit using Power Nodes.
- Upgrade Paths: Each weapon and RIG module has a unique upgrade tree. Prioritize upgrades that enhance damage, capacity, and special abilities for your preferred weapons.
- Strategic Use: Decide whether to spend Power Nodes on upgrades or to unlock locked rooms (which often contain more Power Nodes or valuable loot).
Stores:
- Function: Buy and sell items. You can purchase ammo, med packs, Stasis packs, oxygen tanks, and new suit/weapon schematics (once found). You can also sell unwanted items for credits.
- Inventory Management: The Store also functions as a storage locker, allowing you to deposit excess items and retrieve them later. This is crucial for managing your limited inventory space.
- Strategic Use: Only buy what you absolutely need. Selling excess ammo for weapons you don't use can provide valuable credits for essential supplies.
