How to Beat The Old One's Lair

After defeating Phalanx, players can visit any location using Archstones in The Nexus. This guide focuses on navigating the increasingly difficult learning curve to beat the game. Demon's Souls, obtained from defeated bosses, should not be consumed if it's your first playthrough. These souls are vital for Blacksmith Ed to craft unique weapons or for Sage Freke, Yuria, The Witch, or Saint Urbain to teach Magic spells and Miracles. Blacksmith Ed requires the Red Hot Demon's Soul before upgrading weapons with other Demon's Souls.

Your success against bosses depends on equipment, spells, tactics, and skill. In body form, you have full health and can wear two rings. In soul form, you might inflict more damage. The optimal form depends on the boss and your fighting style.

  1. Fight Silver Skeletons and pass the fog door.
  2. Turn left, go to the top of the building, head to the end, and descend the ladder.
  3. Go down to obtain the Copper Key.
  4. Turn back and take the stairs all the way down. Hit the wall to break the illusion.
  5. Go all the way to the end to free Graverobber Blige using the Copper Key.
  6. Return to where you broke the illusion door, turn left, and hit another illusory wall to dispel it.
  7. Head up the stairs to the second fog door, where you can fight the optional boss Vanguard.
  8. Pass through the fog door and go up the stairs. Continue until you are on narrow ledges fighting Gold Skeletons.
  9. Reach and pass through the third fog door.
  10. Enter the boss room and defeat Adjudicator.
