- Wooden Catalyst: The most basic catalyst, found early in the game.
- Winged Spear Catalyst: A slightly better option, found in Boletaria.
- Insanity Catalyst: Offers a high magic attack bonus but drains MP over time. Found in the Ivory Tower.
- Kris Blade: Does not cast spells itself but increases spell damage when held in the off-hand. Found in the Shrine of Storms.
Talismans of God for Miracles
Talismans of God are used to cast miracles. Like catalysts, they have varying bonuses and scale with your Faith stat.
- Talisman of God: The standard talisman, found in various locations.
- Talisman of Beasts: Offers bonuses to both magic and miracles, scaling with both Intelligence and Faith. Obtained by giving the Storm King's Demon Soul to the Monumental.
Learning and Upgrading Spells/Miracles
To learn new spells and miracles, you must first find the corresponding scrolls or tomes and then speak with the relevant NPCs (Sage Freke, Yuria, Saint Urbain). This costs souls.
Upgrading your catalyst or talisman is done by Blacksmith Ed in the Smithing Grounds (World 2-1). He requires specific Demon's Souls to perform these upgrades, increasing their magic or miracle attack power.
