Regional Chests Guide
The 2026 Expansion introduces new explorable zones, and with them, a familiar yet rewarding system: Regional Chests. These chests are scattered throughout the new patrol zones, offering valuable resources and unique rewards upon discovery. Each chest typically contains a mix of Glimmer, Enhancement Cores, and sometimes even destination-specific materials or Legendary gear. Finding all the Regional Chests in a given area is often a prerequisite for unlocking certain Triumphs or completing regional bounties, making them a key objective for dedicated explorers.
In the new zone of "Aethelgard," for example, locate a total of 10 Regional Chests. These chests are often hidden in plain sight or require a bit of platforming or environmental interaction to access. One chest might be found within the ruins of an ancient Eliksni settlement, requiring players to navigate through collapsed structures. Another could be perched atop a high cliff face, necessitating the use of a Sparrow boost or a well-timed jump. The rewards from these chests are particularly useful during the early stages of the expansion, providing a steady stream of materials to upgrade your gear and increase your Power Level. For instance, finding the chest near the "Whispering Falls" landmark in Aethelgard might yield 3 Enhancement Cores and 500 Glimmer, a welcome boost for any Guardian.
To aid in your search, keep an eye out for subtle visual cues. Regional Chests often have a distinct golden sheen or a unique symbol that differentiates them from standard loot caches. The game's UI will also provide a counter for the number of chests found in the current zone, usually displayed on the destination map. Some chests may also be guarded by minor enemy patrols, adding a small combat challenge to their discovery. For players aiming for efficiency, it's recommended to tackle Regional Chests while completing other zone-based activities, such as public events or Lost Sectors, to maximize your time. Remember that some chests might only become accessible after completing specific story missions or unlocking certain traversal abilities within the new zone.
