Armor Mods are essential for customizing your Guardian's abilities and stats. They are slotted into armor pieces and cost 'Energy' (which can be increased by upgrading armor). Combat Style Mods, introduced in previous seasons, offer even deeper buildcrafting potential, creating powerful synergies.
Types of Armor Mods:
- Stat Mods: Directly increase a specific stat (e.g., +10 Resilience).
- Ability Cooldown Mods: Reduce cooldowns for grenades, melee, or class abilities (e.g., Bomber, Outreach).
- Weapon Loader/Scavenger/Finder Mods: Improve weapon handling, ammo economy, or ammo drops.
- Damage Resistance Mods: Reduce incoming damage from specific sources (e.g., Concussive Dampener, Elemental Resist).
Combat Style Mods (Legacy):
These mods (Charged with Light, Warmind Cells, Elemental Wells) were a cornerstone of buildcrafting but have largely been replaced by the 'Armor Charge' system and new Artifact Mods. While some still exist, the focus has shifted.
Armor Charge System (Current):
This system uses 'Armor Charge' stacks, gained by picking up Orbs of Power or using specific mods. These stacks can then be consumed by other mods to grant powerful buffs, ability energy, or damage resistance. Examples include 'Font of Might' (weapon damage buff) or 'Innervation' (grenade energy on Orb pickup).
Experiment with different mod combinations to create powerful synergies that complement your subclass and weapons.
