Exotic Armor & Weapon Perks
Exotic armor and weapons are the rarest and most powerful pieces of gear in Destiny, each boasting unique perks that can fundamentally alter your playstyle and build. These items are not just stat sticks; they offer game-changing abilities that can synergize with your class, subclass, and other gear to create potent combinations.
For example, the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher, a legendary weapon from the original Destiny, features the "Wolfpack Rounds" perk, which causes rockets to split into seeking cluster missiles. This dramatically increases its area-of-effect damage and makes it incredibly effective against groups of enemies. On the armor side, the Warlock's Apotheosis Veil helmet, when activated with your Super, grants health regeneration and increased Super damage to you and nearby allies, making it invaluable for clutch Super plays.
When building around Exotics, consider how their perks complement your chosen subclass. A Hunter running the Orpheus Rig exotic leg armor can significantly boost their Super regeneration when using the Shadowshot (Moebius Quiver) ability on multiple enemies, encouraging a more aggressive Super usage playstyle. Conversely, the Titan's Ursa Furiosa exotic gauntlets can refund Super energy when you block damage with your Sentinel Shield, promoting a more defensive and supportive role.
Weapon perks are equally crucial. Many Exotic weapons have a signature perk that defines their use. The Ace of Spades hand cannon, for instance, has "Memento Mori," which grants bonus damage and reloads rounds from your запас after a kill, rewarding precise gunplay. Understanding these perks and how they interact with your abilities is key to optimizing your Guardian's effectiveness in all of Destiny's activities, from Crucible matches to challenging raid encounters.
When acquiring Exotics, keep an eye out for random rolls on Legendary gear as well, as some Legendary perks can be just as impactful as certain Exotic ones. However, the truly unique and build-defining effects are almost always found on Exotic items. Experiment with different combinations to discover synergies that best suit your preferred combat style.
