Generic classes form the backbone of your custom army in Disgaea 6. Early game, focus on creating a balanced party with Warriors (high ATK, good weapon proficiency), Mages/Skulls (elemental damage, area-of-effect spells), and Clerics (healing, support). As you progress, unlock and utilize more specialized classes like Ninjas (high SPD, evasion), Samurai (high ATK, critical damage), and various monster classes with unique movement and attack patterns. Each generic class has specific aptitudes and learnable Evilities. When creating a character, consider their role in your party and choose a class that aligns with that role. Remember that characters can reincarnate into different classes, allowing them to inherit skills and Evilities from previous classes, creating highly customized units.
