Abilities are categorized into Combat Abilities (Weapon, Defense, Elemental Schools) and Civil Abilities (Crafting, Loremaster, Bartering). Combat abilities unlock new skills and improve their effectiveness. Civil abilities provide out-of-combat utility. Invest points wisely to complement your party's roles. For example, a warrior needs Weapon abilities, while a mage needs Elemental Schools. Loremaster is excellent for identifying items.
