When your hero dies, you lose a portion of your unreliable gold, and your respawn timer begins. The longer the respawn timer, the more gold you lose upon death. This is where the Buyback mechanic comes into play, offering a powerful, albeit costly, way to return to the fight almost immediately. Death Penalties: Upon death, you lose a percentage of your unreliable gold. The amount lost increases with your respawn timer. This gold is lost permanently and cannot be recovered. Furthermore, your respawn timer is determined by your hero's level. Higher levels mean longer respawn times. Buyback Mechanics: You can choose to spend a sificant amount of gold to instantly respawn your hero. The cost of buyback is dependent on your hero's level and increases with each subsequent buyback within a certain timeframe. There's also a cooldown on buyback after you use it, meaning you cannot buy back again immediately. This cooldown is typically 5 minutes. If you buy back and die again quickly, you will have spent a large amount of gold and still have a long respawn timer, leaving your team severely under-resourced. It's also important to consider the enemy's ability to prevent buybacks. Some abilities or items can disable buyback for a short period.
