Every hero in Dota 2 has a primary attribute (Strength, Agility, or Intelligence) that dictates their main scaling and provides specific bonuses.
Strength Heroes:
- Primary Benefit: Each point of Strength grants +20 Health and +0.7% Health Regeneration.
- Primary Attribute Bonus: For Strength heroes, each point of Strength also grants +1 Attack Damage.
- Typical Role: Often play as Offlaners or Carries, known for their durability, crowd control, and ability to initiate fights. Examples: Axe, Bristleback, Sven.
Agility Heroes:
- Primary Benefit: Each point of Agility grants +0.16 Armor and +1 Attack Speed.
- Primary Attribute Bonus: For Agility heroes, each point of Agility also grants +1 Attack Damage.
- Typical Role: Almost exclusively Carries, known for their high physical damage output, attack speed, and often evasion or mobility. Examples: Phantom Assassin, Juggernaut, Drow Ranger.
Intelligence Heroes:
- Primary Benefit: Each point of Intelligence grants +12 Mana and +0.4% Mana Regeneration.
- Primary Attribute Bonus: For Intelligence heroes, each point of Intelligence also grants +1 Attack Damage.
- Typical Role: Often play as Mid Laners or Supports, known for their powerful spells, burst damage, and utility. Examples: Lina, Zeus, Crystal Maiden.
While a hero's primary attribute is important, all heroes benefit from gaining points in all three attributes, as they provide universal bonuses to health, mana, armor, and attack speed.
