Boss Strategies: Pride Demon

The Pride Demon is a formidable foe encountered early in the game. Its primary attack is a wide-reaching electric whip, and it possesses a unique mechanic where it becomes invulnerable when its health bar turns grey. Successfully navigating this fight requires careful positioning, crowd control, and exploiting brief windows of vulnerability.

When facing the Pride Demon, it's crucial to manage its aggression. Have your tank, such as Cassandra, use the Challenge ability to draw its attention. Position her with her back to a wall to limit her movement options and ensure the demon faces away from the rest of your party. This allows your ranged attackers, like Solas and Varric, to deal consistent damage from a safe distance.

The key to damaging the Pride Demon lies in interacting with the Fade Rift. When the demon's health bar turns grey, indicating invulnerability, immediately target the Fade Rift. This action will stun the demon and temporarily weaken it, creating a window for significant damage. Be aware that closing the rift will also summon Lesser Shades, so be prepared to deal with them while the demon is vulnerable.

Maintaining Barrier on your tank is essential for survivability. Abilities like Cassandra's Challenge and Shield Wall can help mitigate incoming damage. Focus on keeping the demon occupied with your tank while your damage dealers exploit the stuns from the Fade Rift. Patience and coordinated attacks are vital to overcoming this challenging encounter.
