Armor Guide
Armor in Dragon Age: Inquisition is more than just a cosmetic choice; it's a critical component of your character's survivability and combat effectiveness. Understanding the different types of armor, their stats, and how to acquire them is essential for any aspiring Inquisitor.
Armor is divided into several tiers, with higher tiers offering better protection and more potent bonuses. The primary types of armor are Light, Medium, and Heavy. Each class is restricted to certain armor types:
- Light Armor: Primarily worn by Mages and Rogues, offering lower physical defense but often providing bonuses to magical power, mana regeneration, or critical hit chance.
- Medium Armor: Accessible to Rogues and some specialized Warriors, striking a balance between defense and offensive bonuses.
- Heavy Armor: Worn by Warriors, providing the highest physical defense and often bonuses to health or guard.
Armor pieces typically consist of a chest piece, helmet, gloves, and boots. Each piece contributes to your overall stats, which include:
- Armor Rating: Reduces incoming physical damage.
- Health: Increases your maximum hit points.
- Offense: Bonuses to attack, critical hit chance, or damage.
- Defense: Bonuses to dodge chance or resistance to status effects.
- Magic: Bonuses to spell power or mana regeneration.
Acquiring Armor:
- Loot: Armor pieces can be found as loot from fallen enemies, in chests, and as rewards for completing quests.
- Crafting: The most powerful armor is typically crafted. You'll need to find schematics and gather specific crafting materials (like Dragon Scales or Deep Mushroom) to create custom gear with tailored stats.
- Merchants: Various merchants throughout Thedas sell armor, though their stock is often limited and may not be as powerful as crafted or rare looted items.
When choosing armor, consider your character's class, specialization, and playstyle. A tanking warrior will prioritize high armor ratings and health bonuses, while a damage-dealing mage might opt for armor that enhances spell power and critical hit chance. upgrade your armor through crafting whenever possible to stay ahead of the curve.
