Side Quests & Activities

Side quests and activities in Dragon Age: The Veilguard offer additional content and opportunities to explore the world. While many side quests will be integrated into the main walkthrough, specific collectibles will also have their own dedicated pages. This guide aims to provide an optimal path through all content, including a 100% walkthrough where possible.

Upon encountering your first group of enemies, defeat them. If you head to the left side of the block door, you will receive a side quest called Gate of Parched Hopes. Your next objective is to reach Solas's hiding place. Varric and Rook will discuss their plan to reach Solas. Continue moving forward and use the zipline to cross to the Canals area.

Some story quests, obtainable during the first act, are listed in the journal as story quests but are optional for the main plot. These quests advance the side quest Regrets of the Dread Wolf.
