Chapter 1: Echoes of the Past
In "Echoes of the Past," after destroying a pillar and interrupting a ritual, Solas stabs Varric and reveals that two tyrannical elven gods he had trapped are now free. This chapter involves navigating blighted paths, solving power stone puzzles, and encountering a memory from the past with an elf named Tarasahl, leading to valuable loot and merchants.
After destroying the pillar, the statue will fall, interrupting the ritual. Solas will then plunge his dagger into Varric. Following another cutscene, Solas reveals that two tyrannical elven gods he had trapped in the past are now free.
Exploration and Loot:
- To find additional loot, move past the stairs on the left and locate a small gap downwards. At the end, you will find a small chest containing materials.
- A locked door requires two power stones. One is already in position. Take this power stone and place it in the door completely across from it, past the area where you fought the Frenzied Sentinel, to open that door.
- Once past this door, head left to find a chest containing the Raider's Cleaver.
Quest Progression:
- If you take the left turn before the blighted door at Into the Crossroads, you can take a small slide to meet an elf named Tarasahl, which is a memory from the past. Take the key to the right of the door to access the area.
- Drop down again and follow the marker. You will find a merchant selling valuable items.
- Past the merchant, use a zip line to reach the docks.
- Just past the zip line, there is a ladder. Climb it and defeat the Darkspawn.
- Proceed past the caged griffons and open the blighted path to continue advancing.
