Time Nest
The Time Nest is the central hub of your adventures in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, serving as the headquarters for the Time Patrol and the primary location for progressing the main story. You'll spend a significant amount of time here, interacting with key characters and undertaking crucial missions to protect history.
Accessing the Time Nest
Upon completing the initial tutorial missions in Conton City, you will be directed to the Time Nest. It's easily identifiable by the large, futuristic building housing the Supreme Kai of Time and Elder Kai. You can reach it quickly by using the flight mechanic once unlocked, or by using the various transportation points around Conton City.
Key Areas and NPCs
The Time Nest is divided into several important sections, each with its own purpose and inhabitants:
- Supreme Kai of Time's Chamber: This is where you'll find the Supreme Kai of Time, your primary contact for the main story quests. She will assign you missions to correct historical anomalies. Always check in with her after completing a major story arc.
- Elder Kai's Desk: Located near the Supreme Kai of Time, Elder Kai is responsible for initiating Parallel Quests. These side missions are excellent for farming experience, Zeni, and rare items like Super Souls and Skills. Speak to him to browse available PQs and launch them.
- Time Vault: This is the large, glowing orb in the center of the main chamber. Interacting with it allows you to replay completed story missions. This is useful for grinding specific drops, practicing difficult fights, or simply reliving your favorite moments.
- Patrol Robots: Scattered throughout the Time Nest, these small robots offer various services. Some allow you to change your character's appearance, while others provide information about the game world or offer minor quests. Keep an eye out for them!
- Time Scroll Pedestals: As you progress through the story, new Time Scrolls will appear on pedestals around the main chamber. Interacting with these scrolls will transport you to specific historical periods to undertake story missions.
Time Nest Progression Strategy
To efficiently navigate the Time Nest and maximize your progress, follow these actionable steps:
- Prioritize Main Story: Your first objective should always be to speak with the Supreme Kai of Time and accept the next available story mission. Completing these unlocks new areas, characters, and essential game mechanics.
- Mix in Parallel Quests: After each major story arc, consider tackling a few Parallel Quests. This will help you level up, acquire new skills, and gather equipment that will make subsequent story missions easier. Look for PQs that offer skills or Super Souls beneficial to your build. For example, if you're a Ki Blast user, seek out PQs that drop powerful Ki Blast Supers.
- Revisit Time Vault for Grinding: If you're struggling with a particular story mission or need to farm specific items, use the Time Vault. For instance, if you need more Zeni, replay missions with high Zeni rewards like "Frieza's Siege" (PQ 04).
- Check for New Mentors: While not directly in the Time Nest, new Mentors often become available in Conton City after completing certain story milestones. These mentors teach powerful skills, so check the Mentor locations regularly.
- Explore and Interact: Don't rush through the Time Nest. Take a moment to talk to all available NPCs. They often provide lore, hints, or even small side quests that can lead to valuable rewards.
Remember, the Time Nest is your home base. Returning here frequently is key to ensuring you're always prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in your quest to protect the flow of history!
