First Time Patrol Mission: Saiyan Saga Walkthrough
Welcome, Conton City Hero! Your journey through time and space begins with a critical mission: correcting distortions within the Saiyan Saga. This pivotal moment in Dragon Ball history is your first true test as a Time Patroller, introducing you to multi-opponent combat, Ki and Stamina management, and the sheer power of the Saiyan race. Prepare for a challenging but rewarding experience!
Mission Briefing & Preparation
Upon reporting to the Time Nest, Trunks will brief you on the anomaly. Raditz, Goku's long-lost brother, has arrived on Earth, but the timeline is unstable. You'll be sent directly into the fray to assist Piccolo and Goku. Before you depart, ensure your Patroller is adequately prepared:
- Level Recommendation: While the mission scales somewhat, aiming for at least Level 5-10 will make the initial encounters more manageable.
- Equipment: Equip your best available Z-Soul, Super Soul, and any stat-boosting accessories. Focus on increasing your basic attack, Ki Blast Supers, or Strike Supers depending on your chosen race and build.
- Skills: Ensure you have a balanced set of Super Attacks and at least one Evasive Skill. A Ki Blast Super (like Kamehameha or Galick Gun) and a Strike Super (like Meteor Crash or Mach Punch) are good starting points. An Evasive Skill like "Break Strike" or "Energy Barrier" can save you in a pinch.
- Consumables: Although not strictly necessary for the first few attempts, carrying a few "Regen Capsules S" or "Energy Capsules S" from the Item Shop in the Shopping District can provide a safety net.
Phase 1: Confronting Raditz
Your first objective is to assist Goku and Piccolo against Raditz. This encounter serves as an introduction to fighting a powerful single opponent.
Location:
- Wasteland (near Goku's House)
Enemies:
- Raditz: A formidable Saiyan with powerful Ki Blasts and physical attacks.
Strategy:
- Focus Fire: While Goku and Piccolo are your allies, Raditz will often target you. Work with your allies to gang up on him.
- Guard & Evasion: Raditz's "Double Sunday" and "Saturday Crush" can deal significant damage. Block incoming Ki Blasts and use your Evasive Skill if you're caught in a combo.
- Stamina Break: If you can land a heavy stamina break, unleash your most powerful Super Attacks for maximum damage.
- Ultimate Finish Condition: Defeat Raditz with Goku and Piccolo still standing.
Potential Rewards (Phase 1):
- Zeni
- Small amount of EXP
- Skills: Double Sunday, Saturday Crush (random drop)
- Equipment: Raditz's Battle Suit (random drop)
Phase 2: The Arrival of Nappa & Vegeta
After Raditz's defeat, the timeline shifts again. You'll be transported to the battlefield where Nappa and Vegeta are wreaking havoc.
Location:
- Rocky Area (where the Z-Fighters confront Nappa and Vegeta)
Enemies:
- Nappa: A brute force Saiyan with devastating area-of-effect attacks.
- Vegeta (Great Ape): Initially, Vegeta will be in his base form, but he can transform into a Great Ape.
Strategy:
- Prioritize Nappa: Nappa's "Bomber DX" and "Giant Storm" can hit multiple allies and deal massive damage. Focus him down first to reduce the pressure on your team.
- Teamwork: Your AI allies (typically Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan) will assist. Use this to your advantage. If Nappa is distracted by an ally, unleash your combos and Super Attacks.
- Ki & Stamina Management: This is your first taste of multi-opponent combat. Be mindful of your resources. Don't spam attacks if your Ki is low, and always keep enough Stamina for an Evasive Skill.
- Vegeta's Galick Gun: Once Nappa is defeated, Vegeta will become your primary target. His "Galick Gun" is a powerful beam attack. Guard against it or quickly move to the side to avoid it.
- Great Ape Vegeta: If the mission progresses to this point, Vegeta will transform. Target his tail to stun him, then unleash your attacks. Be aware of his stomps and mouth blasts.
Common Pitfalls & Tips:
- Getting Ganged Up On: It's easy to get overwhelmed by Nappa and Vegeta simultaneously. Use your Z-Vanishes and Evasive Skills to create distance if you're being targeted by both.
- Ignoring Nappa: Trying to take on Vegeta first while Nappa is still active is a common mistake. Nappa's AoE attacks will constantly interrupt you and damage your allies.
- Stamina Break Management: Don't just spam heavy attacks. Learn to time your heavy attacks to break an opponent's guard, then follow up with a combo or Super.
- Ally Revival: If an ally goes down, you can revive them by standing near them and holding the interact button. This is crucial for maintaining pressure and completing Ultimate Finishes.
Potential Rewards (Phase 2 & Ultimate Finish):
Completing the mission with an Ultimate Finish (all allies surviving, specific conditions met) often yields better rewards.
