The Dragonlord is the final boss of Dragon Quest Builders, a multi-phase encounter that tests all your accumulated skills. The battle takes place in his floating fortress.
Recommended Preparations:
- Weapon: Sword of Kings or Sword of Ruin (your absolute best weapon).
- Armor: Hero's Armor or Full Plate Armor (your absolute best armor).
- Healing: 20+ Superior Medicinal Herbs, 10+ Full Moon Dew, 5-10 Orb of Light (if crafted).
- Accessory: Strength Ring or Defense Ring.
- Key Item: Rainbow Drop (required to reach his fortress).
- Base Defense: Ensure your Tantegel Castle has maximum defenses for the preceding monster waves.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1: Dragonlord's Castle
You'll use the Rainbow Drop to reach his castle. Navigate through it, fighting powerful monsters and destroying magical pillars that empower him.- Destroy Pillars: Focus on destroying the glowing pillars. They are often guarded.
- Manage HP: This phase is a gauntlet. Conserve healing items for the main fight.
- Phase 2: Dragonlord's True Form
After destroying the pillars, you'll face the Dragonlord in his monstrous form on a crumbling platform.- Build Platforms: He will destroy parts of the arena. Quickly place blocks to create new platforms and avoid falling.
- Attack Weak Point: His head or a glowing orb on his chest is his weak point. Focus all attacks there.
- Dodge Attacks: He has powerful fire breath, tail swipes, and ground pounds. Learn his patterns and dodge.
- Phase 3: Dragonlord's Final Form (True Ending)
If you refuse his offer, he transforms into an even more powerful form.- Build Bridge: He will float away. Quickly build a bridge of blocks to reach him.
- DPS Race: This is a pure damage-per-second race. Use your strongest attacks and items.
- Survive: Keep healing and attacking until he is defeated.
This is the ultimate test. Every item, every piece of gear, and every building skill you've learned will be put to the test. Stay calm, manage your resources, and attack relentlessly during his vulnerable phases. Upon defeat, you'll witness the true ending and restore light to Alefgard.
