The Dread Dragon is the boss of Rimuldar, a flying beast that breathes fire and spreads poison. It requires a specific item to be defeated effectively.
Recommended Preparations:
- Weapon: Steel Broadsword or better.
- Armor: Full Plate Armor.
- Healing: 15-20 Medicinal Herbs, 5-10 Antidotes.
- Accessory: Ring of Immunity (essential for poison immunity).
- Key Item: Hocus Focus (crafted via quest, crucial for stunning the dragon).
- Traps: 15-20 Spiked Barricades and Big Barricades for base defense.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1: Aerial Assault
The Dread Dragon will fly around your base, occasionally swooping down to breathe fire or land and attack. It will also summon smaller monsters.- Defend Base: Focus on defending your base banner from the summoned monsters and the dragon's attacks.
- Use Hocus Focus: When the Dread Dragon is flying overhead, use the Hocus Focus. This will cause it to fall to the ground, stunned.
- Phase 2: Grounded & Vulnerable
While stunned on the ground, the Dread Dragon's head will be vulnerable.- Attack Head: Rush in and attack its head relentlessly. This is your primary damage window.
- Avoid Fire Breath: If it recovers, it will often use a powerful fire breath attack. Move away quickly when it rears its head.
- Repeat: Continue using the Hocus Focus to stun it and attack its head until it is defeated.
The Ring of Immunity is vital to avoid being poisoned, which can quickly drain your health. The Hocus Focus is the key to this fight; without it, dealing significant damage is extremely difficult. Upon defeat, you'll receive the Heart of Rimuldar.
