The Inferno is the fiery boss of Kol, residing in a volcanic arena. Its weakness is water, which you'll need to strategically utilize.
Recommended Preparations:
- Weapon: Sword of Ruin or better.
- Armor: Full Plate Armor, ideally with Heat-Resistant Armor equipped.
- Healing: 20+ Superior Medicinal Herbs, 5-10 Full Moon Dew.
- Accessory: Gale Gauntlets (for increased attack speed) or Defense Ring.
- Environmental Prep: Ensure the water channels in the arena are properly constructed as part of the quest.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1: Lava & Fire Attacks
The Inferno will emerge from the lava, attacking with fire breath, ground pounds, and summoning fire-based monsters.- Lure to Water: Your main goal is to lure the Inferno into the pre-built water channels. It will often follow you.
- Dodge Attacks: Its attacks are powerful. Prioritize dodging its fire breath and ground slams.
- Phase 2: Stunned & Vulnerable
When the Inferno touches water, it will be temporarily stunned and its core will be exposed.- Attack Core: Rush in and attack the glowing core on its body. This is your primary damage window.
- Repeat: The Inferno will eventually recover and return to the lava. Repeat Phase 1, luring it back into the water channels, until it is defeated.
Heat-Resistant Armor is highly recommended to mitigate environmental damage. The fight is a cycle of luring, stunning, and attacking. Be patient and don't get caught in its powerful fire attacks. Upon defeat, you'll receive the Heart of Kol.
