Your base of operations in each chapter is known as the 'Terra Incognita' (or simply 'Base'). This is your sanctuary, your crafting hub, and the heart of your rebuilding efforts. The base is marked by a large, glowing banner. As you expand your base, its level will increase, attracting more villagers and unlocking new crafting recipes and abilities.

Key Base Mechanics:

  • Base Level: Increases as you build rooms, place furniture, and complete quests. A higher base level grants more HP to your base's banner during monster attacks and attracts more NPCs.
  • Room Requirements: A room is defined by a 2-block high wall perimeter, a door, and a light source. The size and contents of a room determine its type (e.g., Simple Bedroom, Workshop).
  • Villagers: NPCs will gradually join your base as you progress. They offer quests, provide unique crafting recipes, and sometimes even help defend the base.
  • Monster Attacks: Periodically, your base will be attacked by waves of monsters. You must defend the base banner. Building strong walls and strategically placed traps is crucial for survival.
  • Teleportals: These glowing portals allow you to travel to different islands within the current chapter, each offering unique resources and challenges.

Focus on building functional rooms early on. A Simple Bedroom will provide a place for villagers to rest, and a Basic Workshop will unlock essential crafting recipes. Always keep an eye on your base's defenses, especially before venturing far from home. The base is not just a place to live; it's a living entity that grows with your efforts.
