Baramos is the Archfiend, the primary antagonist for much of the game, and a significant hurdle. He is a powerful magic-user with devastating spells and strong physical attacks. This is a multi-phase fight that requires careful planning and execution.

Stats (Approximate):

  • HP: 1500-2000
  • Attack: Very High
  • Defense: High
  • Weaknesses: None significant.
  • Resistances: High resistance to many status effects.

Attacks:

  • Blazemore: Deals massive fire damage to a single target.
  • Explodet: Deals massive fire damage to all targets.
  • Icebolt: Deals significant ice damage to a single target.
  • Physical Attack: Deals heavy single-target damage.
  • Disruptive Wave: Dispels all positive status effects on your party.
  • Meditate: Restores a large amount of his own HP.

Strategy:

  1. Party Level: Recommended Level 30-35.
  2. Equipment: Ensure ALL party members have the absolute best equipment available, prioritizing Magic Armor/Shields for magic resistance.
  3. Hero: Your primary damage dealer and secondary healer. Use Sword of Kings/Falcon Sword. Be ready to cast Fullheal or Midheal if your main healer is busy or falls.
  4. Warrior/Fighter: Focus on relentless physical attacks. If you have a Gringham Whip, use it.
  5. Pilgrim/Sage: Your main healer. Cast Fullheal every turn if needed. If you have a Sage, they can also use offensive spells like Thordain or Explodet when healing isn't critical. Be prepared to cast Vivify/Revive.
  6. Wizard/Second Sage: Unleash your most powerful offensive spells (Thordain, Explodet, Blazemore).
  7. Support Spells:
    • Sap: Cast on Baramos to lower his defense.
    • Defence: Cast on your party to raise their defense.
    • Barrier: (If available) Reduces elemental damage.
  8. MP Management: Baramos is a long fight. Use Prayer Rings or Elfin Elixirs on your magic-users as needed.
  9. Disruptive Wave: Be aware that Baramos will dispel your buffs. Don't waste too many turns re-casting them immediately after he uses Disruptive Wave.
  10. Meditate: When Baramos Meditates, he restores a lot of HP. This is frustrating but unavoidable. Just keep up the pressure.

Baramos is a true test. Keep your HP high, manage your MP, and deal consistent damage. Don't give up! Defeating him will seem like the end, but a new challenge awaits.
