Objectives: Navigate the Dream Ruby Cave, defeat the boss, retrieve the Dream Ruby, awaken the Elder.
- Enter the Dream Ruby Cave. The monsters here can be challenging, including those that cast sleep.
- Navigate through the cave. It's a relatively straightforward dungeon, but keep an eye out for hidden passages or chests.
- You will eventually reach a chamber where a monster is guarding a treasure chest.
- Boss Battle: Man-eater Chest (sometimes accompanied by other monsters). This enemy can deal significant damage. Focus your attacks and keep your party healed.
- After defeating the Man-eater Chest, open the treasure chest to obtain the Dream Ruby.
- Exit the Dream Ruby Cave.
- Return to Portooga Castle and speak with the King. He will instruct you to take the Dream Ruby to the Elder.
- The Elder's house is located in a small building south of Portooga. Enter and use the Dream Ruby on the sleeping Elder.
- The Elder will awaken and, in gratitude, will grant you access to the Ship, which is docked in Portooga.
- Go to the Portooga docks and board the Ship. You can now sail the seas!
Important Items: Dream Ruby (from Man-eater Chest), Ship (from Elder).
Recommended Party Level: 15-17 after obtaining the Ship.
