Objectives: Reach Portooga, gather information about the Dream Ruby, prepare for the cave.
- From Ashalam, head west and then north, using your Magic Key to open any red locked doors you encounter on the world map.
- You will eventually reach Portooga.
- Explore Portooga Town. You'll find several new items and equipment. Upgrade your gear.
- Visit Portooga Castle and speak with the King. He will tell you about the missing Dream Ruby, which is needed to awaken the sleeping Elder.
- Talk to the townspeople. You'll learn that the Dream Ruby was stolen by a monster and taken to a cave to the north.
- Stock up on supplies, especially items to cure sleep, as some enemies in the upcoming cave can cast sleep spells.
- Head north from Portooga to find the Dream Ruby Cave.
Important Items: None directly in Portooga, but essential for upgrading gear.
Recommended Party Level: 13-15 before entering the Dream Ruby Cave.
