Upon exiting the Pilgrim's Path, you emerge in the Kingdom of Romaria. This region serves as your first major hub for recruitment and story progression. Your primary objective here is to speak with the King of Romaria, who tasks you with retrieving his stolen King’s Crown from the bandit Robbin' 'Ood, located in the Shannane (Kazap) region to the north.
Romaria: The Royal City
Romaria is a massive trade hub. Visit the Monster Arena to wager gold on monster battles, a quick way to fund your gear upgrades. Before leaving, search the bushes in the castle courtyard for a hidden Seed of Resilience and check the pot in the upper-left house for a Tough Guy Tattoo.
| Shop Type | Notable Inventory Items |
|---|---|
| Weapon Shop | Broadsword, Iron Claw, Chain Whip |
| Armor Shop | Iron Armor, Iron Shield, Iron Helmet |
Journey to Kazap and the Shannane Region
Head north from Romaria to reach the village of Kazap (alternatively known as Shannane). This village is known for its "Sleepy Hollow" nature; speak to the NPCs at night to learn about the Magic Key. In a tombstone in the village cemetery, you can find a hidden Staff of Antimagic.
The Kazap Cave (Robbin' 'Ood’s Hideout)
Located west of Kazap, this multi-floor dungeon is your first true test of endurance. The enemies here, such as Army Ants and Spiked Hares, attack in large groups.
- Floor B1: Focus on navigating the central path. Avoid the side rooms unless you are seeking a Seed of Luck found in a chest in the southwest corner.
- Floor B2: This floor features a loop. Follow the outer wall clockwise to find the stairs down to the boss chamber.
- The Boss: You will face Robbin' 'Ood and three henchmen. Focus on the henchmen first using sleep spells (Snooze), then focus physical attacks on the boss. Once defeated, he drops the King’s Crown.
Navigation Tip
Return the Crown to the King of Romaria to be offered the throne. Warning: Accepting the throne is a fun diversion but prevents you from saving your game or leaving the city until you find the King in the Monster Arena and "abdicate" back to him.
