The true depth of this adventure often begins after the main story concludes. The post-game offers a wealth of content and challenges for dedicated Sentinels:
- Grottoes: The primary post-game activity, offering endless randomly generated dungeons, rare loot, and powerful bosses.
- Legacy Bosses: The ultimate challenge, requiring highly optimized parties to take down legendary foes like Dragonlord, Psaro, and Estark. Defeating them all is a monumental task.
- Extra Quests: Dozens of new side quests become available, such as Quest #158 " some Like It Hot" which contributes to unlocking the ultimate alchemy recipes, or specialized class quests that unlock the Sage and Luminary vocations.
- Alchemiracles: A rare chance during alchemy to create "super-powered" versions of legendary gear. For instance, successfully triggering an Alchemiracle when crafting a Stardust Sword can result in the god-tier Hypernova Sword.
- Special DLC Quests: Originally distributed via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, these 64 additional quests provide unique story arcs, such as the backstory of the Inn at Stornway and the recruitment of legacy characters. While the official service is discontinued, these can still be unlocked via local multiplayer with someone who has them or through specific save-state modifications.
Don't put the game down after the credits roll! The post-game content can easily double or triple your playtime, offering some of the most rewarding challenges in the entire series.
