Upon gaining control, explore Roundbeck. Talk to everyone, especially your father, Pankraz. He'll give you your first task: finding a Medicinal Herb for your mother. Head north out of town and fight some Slimes and Drackies to gain a few levels. The Medicinal Herb can be found in a sparkling spot on the ground near the village entrance or dropped by enemies. Return to Pankraz once you have it. He will then take you to the nearby Ancient Ruins, where you'll learn about combat and exploration. Follow his instructions carefully, as these early lessons are vital for understanding the game's core mechanics. check barrels and pots for items!
