Weapons in Dragon Quest V directly impact a character's Attack stat, increasing their physical damage output. Different characters can equip different weapon types (swords, spears, axes, staves, whips, etc.). Always aim to equip your physical attackers (Hero, Henry, Hero's Son, certain monsters) with the strongest weapon they can wield. Look for weapons with additional effects, such as elemental damage or status ailments, which can be particularly useful against specific enemy types. The Zenithian Sword is the Hero's ultimate weapon. Purchase new weapons from weapon shops in towns, or find them in chests and as rare enemy drops. Prioritize upgrading weapons for your main damage dealers.
