Walkthrough - Mid Game

Welcome back, intrepid hero! You've navigated the initial challenges of Weaver's Peak and Haggleton, and now the true scope of the Dream World and Real World begins to unfold. This section will guide you through the intricate mid-game, focusing on key story progression, essential item acquisition, and strategic advice for upcoming challenges.

The Dream World's Embrace: Somnia and the Well

After your initial foray into the Dream World and the discovery of Somnia, your next major objective is to understand the connection between the two realms. You'll find yourself needing to visit the Somnian Well, a crucial point of interest.

  • Somnia (Dream World): Explore the town thoroughly. Speak to everyone to gather information. check pots and barrels for hidden items. You'll find a Seed of Agility in a pot near the church and a Mini Medal in a dresser in the inn.
  • Somnian Castle: Head to the castle and speak with the King. He'll provide clues about the mysterious well.
  • The Somnian Well: Located just outside Somnia to the west. Upon entering, you'll find it leads to a small, isolated area. This is where the true mystery begins to unravel.

Real World Revelations: Port Haven and the Ship

Returning to the Real World, your focus shifts to Port Haven, a bustling port town that holds the key to expanding your exploration.

  • Port Haven:
    • Item Hunt: Search diligently! You can find a Leather Shield in a barrel near the weapon shop, a Medicinal Herb in a pot inside one of the houses, and a Mini Medal in a chest on the second floor of the inn.
    • Information Gathering: Talk to the townsfolk. You'll learn about a missing ship and a legendary sailor. This information is vital for your next steps.
    • The Shipwright's Dilemma: Locate the shipwright's house. He's in a predicament, and helping him will be crucial to obtaining your own vessel.
  • The Sailor's Spirit: To aid the shipwright, you'll need to find the spirit of the legendary sailor. This involves returning to the Dream World.
    • Dream World Somnia: Revisit Somnia in the Dream World. You'll find the sailor's spirit haunting a specific location (often near the docks or a prominent landmark). Engage with the spirit to learn of its unfinished business.
    • Fulfilling the Request: The spirit will likely ask you to retrieve a specific item or complete a task in the Real World. Pay close attention to its words.
  • Obtaining the Ship: Once you've fulfilled the sailor's spirit's request and returned to the shipwright in Port Haven (Real World), he will finally be able to complete his work, granting you access to your very own ship! This opens up vast new areas of the world map.

First Naval Adventures: Ghent and the Mermaid's Harp

With your new ship, the world is your oyster! Your immediate goal should be to sail to the continent of Ghent, located to the south of Port Haven.

  • Ghent:
    • Town Exploration: Ghent is a peaceful village. Explore thoroughly for items. You can find a Seed of Life in a chest in the elder's house and a Mini Medal in a pot near the church.
    • The Elder's Tale: Speak with the elder of Ghent. He will tell you about the legendary Mermaid's Harp, an artifact capable of allowing you to travel underwater. This is your next major objective.
  • The Underwater Cave: The elder will point you towards an underwater cave where the Mermaid's Harp is said to reside. You'll need to sail to a specific location on the world map and use your ship to dive.
    • Navigating the Cave: The Underwater Cave can be a bit of a maze. Be prepared for encounters with new aquatic monsters. Prioritize healing and consider equipping any water-resistant gear you may have found.
    • Boss Battle: At the end of the cave, you'll face a boss guarding the Mermaid's Harp. Ensure your party is well-equipped and at a decent level (around Level 18-20 is recommended). Focus on single-target damage and keep your healer active.
    • Mermaid's Harp: Upon defeating the boss, you'll acquire the Mermaid's Harp. This invaluable item allows your ship to dive underwater, unlocking even more areas and secrets.

Strategic Considerations for the Mid-Game:

  • Class System: By this point, you should have access to the Alltrades Abbey. Start experimenting with the class system! Assigning classes like Warrior, Mage, Priest, and Martial Artist to your party members will significantly boost their stats and provide access to powerful new abilities. Consider having at least one dedicated healer (Priest) and one strong physical attacker (Warrior/Martial Artist).
  • Equipment Upgrades: Regularly check weapon and armor shops in new towns. Always prioritize upgrading your main damage dealers and your tank. Don't forget accessories!
  • Mini Medals: Continue collecting Mini Medals. The Medal King is located in a hidden area (which you may discover soon after obtaining the Mermaid's Harp). Saving them up for powerful rewards is highly recommended.
  • Leveling: If you find yourself struggling with a particular area or boss, don't hesitate to spend some time grinding for levels and class experience in the surrounding areas.
