Mini Medals
Mini Medals are a recurring collectible in Dragon Quest VI, offering fantastic rewards for diligent explorers. These shiny tokens are hidden throughout both the Dream World and the Real World, often tucked away in pots, barrels, dressers, treasure chests, or even found by searching specific spots on the ground. Collecting them is highly recommended as the rewards from King Medford at Medford's Manor can significantly boost your party's power and utility.
Finding Mini Medals
The key to finding Mini Medals is thorough exploration. Always check every interactive object in towns, dungeons, and even the world map. use the "Examine" command (A button) on suspicious-looking tiles or isolated spots. Some Mini Medals are found in obvious treasure chests, while others require a keen eye.
Early Game Mini Medals (Before Alltrades Abbey)
- Weaver's Peak: Check the dresser in your house.
- Haggleton: There's one in a pot inside the general store.
- Wellshire: Look in the dresser in the house near the church.
- Somnia Castle (Dream World): In a pot on the first floor, near the kitchen.
- Gardsbane Tower: On the 3rd floor, in a treasure chest.
- Port Haven: In a barrel near the docks.
- Lucid Grotto: In a treasure chest on the lowest level.
- Amor: In a pot in the house to the east.
- Amor Cave: In a treasure chest on B2F.
- Moonmirror Tower: On the 4th floor, in a treasure chest.
- The Underkeep: In a pot on B1F.
- Ghent: In a dresser in the elder's house.

Mid-Game Mini Medals (After Alltrades Abbey)

- Aridea: In a pot in the house to the north.
- Howswort/Howcastle: In a dresser in the castle's living quarters.

- Clearvale (Dream World): In a pot in the inn.
- Clearvale (Real World): In a dresser in the house near the well.
- Destiny's Drop: In a treasure chest on the upper levels.

- The Spiegelspire: On the 3rd floor, in a treasure chest.

Late Game Mini Medals & Post-Game
As you progress, Mini Medals become more scarce but the rewards become even more valuable. revisit previously explored areas with new abilities (like the Flying Carpet or the Grandest Grimoire) as new paths or hidden areas might open up.

- Castle Graceskull: In a dresser in the queen's chambers.
- Stormsgate Citadel: In a treasure chest on the upper floors.
- Cloudsgate Citadel: In a pot in the living quarters.
- Pillar of Pegasus: In a treasure chest near the top.
- Despairia/Lotus Lagoon: In a barrel in one of the huts.
- Dullerton: In a dresser in the inn.
- Greedmore Valley/Mine: In a treasure chest deep within the mine.
- Gallows Moor: In a pot in the guardhouse.
- Prison of Sorrow: In a treasure chest on B3F.
- Mortamor's Dreadlair: A few are scattered throughout this final dungeon.
Medford's Manor and Rewards
Once you've collected a few Mini Medals, head to Medford's Manor. This location becomes accessible after you gain the ability to travel between the Dream and Real Worlds more freely. King Medford will exchange your collected Mini Medals for powerful and unique items. The rewards are cumulative, meaning you'll receive a new item each time you reach a specific medal count.

Prioritize collecting Mini Medals as you play through the game. The stat-boosting Seeds are great for customizing your party, and the Metal King equipment will make your characters incredibly durable. The Gringham Whip is a fantastic offensive item, and the Ultimate Key, earned for collecting all 100 Mini Medals, is essential for accessing all areas and secrets, including some post-game content.
