Your journey begins with creating your hero. Dragon Quest X offers a unique character creation system where you first create a human form, and then choose one of five initial races to embody. This choice impacts your starting location, initial stats, and racial abilities. Take your time to customize your appearance, as this will be your avatar throughout Astoltia. Consider the aesthetic you prefer and the racial bonuses that might align with your preferred playstyle. You can always change your appearance later through certain in-game services, but your initial race is a more permanent decision.
- Human Form: Customize gender, hair, face, and body type. This form is primarily for story purposes and will be revealed later in the main quest.
- Racial Choice: Select from Ogre, Elf, Puklipo, Weddie, or Dwarf. Each race has unique stat distributions and a starting town.
- Name: Choose a memorable name for your hero. This will be how other players identify you.
