Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age features various collectibles that contribute to trophies and enhance gameplay. These include recipe books, materials, and appearance-altering equipment, all of which are tracked for completionist goals.

Expert Itemologist: This silver trophy is awarded for collecting 500 different types of items. This count is cumulative and includes normal items, materials, equipment, key items, and recipe books. Equipment variants (+1, +2, +3) do not count as separate items. You can check your progress by pressing Triangle > Misc > Info.
Dedicated Follower of Fashion: This silver trophy is awarded for collecting all appearance-altering equipment. These items are identifiable by a pink star next to their illustration. Collecting a full set and equipping it changes a character's appearance, even in cutscenes. Appearance-altering equipment can be obtained by:
- Finding recipes and crafting them via the Fun-Size Forge.
- Defeating certain bosses.
- Purchasing from stores.
- Finding them in chests.
You can check completed sets by selecting equipment from the menu, choosing a character, and then selecting the "outfits" option. This allows you to change outfits without altering equipped gear.
Tockles and Pastwords: In Dragon Quest XI S, Tockles are scattered throughout the world. Finding them grants access to exclusive 2D dungeons in Tickington. None of these Tockles are permanently missable. Clearing all content in Tickington, including finding all Tockles, leads to a hidden boss and new costumes not available in the PS4/PC versions.
