One notable side quest involves helping a young woman in Cobblestone who is looking for a specific letter. This quest, titled 'A Letter from Afar,' requires you to travel to the Emerald Coast and find a rock with a blue exclamation point. This is a good example of an early-game quest that encourages exploration.

Another significant questline involves the Tockles and Pastwords. While not a single 'side quest' in the traditional sense, collecting all the Tockles and using their Pastwords to travel to previous Dragon Quest worlds is a major undertaking with its own set of objectives and rewards. This often involves completing smaller quests within these retro-themed dungeons.

The 'Puff-Puff' side quest involves finding specific NPCs throughout the world who offer a unique 'Puff-Puff' experience. Collecting all eight of these can lead to special rewards and achievements. These are often found in towns and cities, requiring you to speak with specific characters.
