The core principle of ranged combat is maintaining distance. This means constantly assessing your surroundings and repositioning yourself to avoid melee attackers or dangerous area-of-effect abilities. Utilizing terrain features like pillars, obstacles, or elevated positions can provide cover and create choke points that funnel enemies, making them easier to target. Understanding your weapon or spell's effective range is also paramount; staying within this range ensures maximum damage and accuracy, while venturing too far can lead to reduced effectiveness or missed shots.

For physical ranged classes like Archers or Hunters, ammunition management and weapon choice are key.
