Understanding Your Class Skills

Each class in DDO: Indie possesses three distinct skill trees, offering a wide array of active abilities, passive buffs, and powerful ultimate techniques. These trees allow for significant build diversity, enabling you to tailor your character to your preferred playstyle. For example, a Fighter might focus on the "Weapon Master" tree for raw damage, while another might invest in "Stalwart Defender" for tanking prowess.

To access and manage your class skills, follow these steps:

Open the Character Sheet: Press 'C' (default keybind) to bring up your character sheet.
Navigate to the Skills Tab: Click on the "Skills" tab at the top of the character sheet window.
Select Your Class Tree: On the left-hand side, you'll see your class's three skill trees. Click on each one to view its associated abilities.
Allocate Skill Points: As you level up, you'll earn skill points. Drag and drop these points onto the desired abilities within your chosen trees. Remember, some abilities have prerequisites, requiring you to invest a certain number of points in earlier skills within the same tree.

Action Surge: This iconic Fighter ability, found in the "Weapon Master" tree, grants you an additional action during your turn.
- Acquisition: Requires 5 points in the "Weapon Master" tree.
- Strategy: Best used to unleash a burst of damage with a second attack sequence, or to reposition and use a defensive ability in the same turn. Combine with the Greatsword of the Crusader (found in the Vault of the Nine dungeon) for maximum impact.
Second Wind: A crucial self-heal from the "Stalwart Defender" tree.
- Acquisition: Available at the first tier of the "Stalwart Defender" tree.
- Strategy: Use this ability when your health drops below 50% to conserve healing potions. It has a short cooldown, making it reliable for sustained engagements.
