'Demons' (z-D) are the most powerful and dangerous entities in Dwarf Fortress, residing in 'The Underworld' (d-u). They are often intelligent, highly skilled in combat, and can possess unique, devastating abilities. Encountering them usually means you've breached the lowest levels of the earth.

Strategy:
- Adamantine Gear: Your 'Militia' (m) absolutely requires 'Adamantine' (d-a) weapons and armor to stand a chance.
- Magma Traps: The most reliable way to deal with demons is to lure them into 'Magma' (d-m) or 'Drowning Chambers' (d-h). Direct combat is extremely risky.
- Sealing: If you accidentally breach the Underworld, immediately seal it off with multiple layers of 'Walls' (b-C-w) and 'Fortifications' (b-C-f) made of the strongest materials.
- Sacrifice: Sometimes, sacrificing a few dwarves to buy time for sealing is the only option.
- Never Engage Directly: Unless you have an overwhelming force and a clear tactical advantage, avoid direct melee combat with demons.
