Develop your players effectively in EA Sports FC 24 Career Mode by understanding player development and utilizing skill points. Nurturing your squad's potential is key to long-term success, whether you're managing a top club or a lower-league underdog.

Understanding Player Potential

Every player in Career Mode has a potential rating, which indicates how high their overall rating can grow. This potential is influenced by their current ability, age, and development path. Young players with high potential are crucial for building a dynasty.

You Development System

Player development in FC 24 is primarily driven by two factors: playing time and training.

  • Playing Time: Players who consistently feature in matches, especially as starters, will develop faster. The better their performance in those matches, the more sificant the development boost.
  • Training: You can manually train players to improve specific attributes. This is done through the 'Player Development' menu.

Training and Skill Points

Training allows you to allocate 'Skill Points' to improve a player's attributes. Each player has a set number of skill points they can earn. These points are gained by playing matches and completing objectives.

Types of Training and Archetypes

When training a player, you can choose from various training plans that focus on specific attributes. For example, you can train a striker to improve their finishing and pace, or a defender to enhance their tackling and strength. FC 24 introduces 'Archetypes' which allow you to specialize a player's development path, unlocking unique attribute boosts and even PlayStyles.

How to Train Effectively

  • Focus on Weaknesses: Identify a player's weakest attributes that are holding them back and focus training there.
  • Enhance Strengths: Alternatively, you can further boost a player's already strong attributes to make them world-class in certain areas.
  • Utilize Archetypes: Choose archetypes that al with the player's role and your team's tactics. For instance, a 'Poacher' archetype for a striker or a 'Ball Winner' for a defensive midfielder.
  • Monitor Fatigue: Be mindful of player fatigue when training. Over-training can lead to injuries.

Player Roles and Development

Consider a player's natural position and role when developing them. A winger might benefit more from pace and dribbling training, while a center-back would prioritize strength and defensive awareness.

Scouting and Youth Academy

The Youth Academy is a crucial source of high-potential players. Scout extensively to find wonderkids with excellent starting attributes and high potential. Develop these young prospects carefully to mold them into future stars.

Managing Player Development

Regularly review your squad's development. Track their progress, adjust training plans as needed, and ensure they are getting sufficient playing time. A well-developed squad is the foundation of any successful Career Mode save.
