Players like Kevin De Bruyne or a well-rounded attacking midfielder are excellent candidates. The key is to create space for your player to line up a shot from distance. This often involves drawing defenders out of position or finding pockets of space between the midfield and defense. When you have possession outside the 18-yard box, hold down the shoot button to build up power. The optimal power level for a long shot is typically between 70% and 85%, depending on the player's attributes and the distance from the goal. Aiming slightly above the crossbar can sometimes result in the ball dipping under it, especially if the goalkeeper is slightly off their line.
