Altus Plateau
The Altus Plateau is a vast and vibrant region that serves as a significant turning point in your journey through the Lands Between. Marked by golden trees and rolling hills, it's a land of beauty and danger, home to powerful demigods and intricate dungeons. Reaching the Altus Plateau opens up new avenues for exploration and progression towards becoming Elden Lord.
Accessing the Altus Plateau typically requires activating the Grand Lift of Dectus or finding a secret path through the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. The Grand Lift of Dectus is activated by collecting the two halves of the Dectus Medallion: the left half found in Fort Haight in Limgrave, and the right half in Fortified Manor in Leyndell, Royal Capital. Once both halves are acquired, you can use them at the Grand Lift to ascend to the plateau. Alternatively, You can brave the challenging Ruin-Strewn Precipice, a winding dungeon filled with enemies and platforming challenges, which eventually leads to the Altus Plateau. Upon arrival, you'll find a sprawling landscape dotted with various points of interest. Key locations include the Erdtree-Gazing Hill, the Bridge of Sacrifice, and the Minor Erdtree. The plateau is also home to several important dungeons and legacy dungeons, such as the Golden Lineage Evergaol, the Perfumer's Grotto, and the infamous Leyndell, Royal Capital. The enemies here are more formidable than those in Limgrave and Liurnia, including soldiers, knights, and dangerous beasts. The presence of the Golden Order means that many areas are patrolled by powerful knights and sorcerers. Be prepared for encounters with Grafted Scions, Erdtree Avatars, and various types of magical constructs. The lore of the Altus Plateau is deeply intertwined with the Golden Order and the history of the demigods. Exploring its many ruins and encountering its inhabitants will reveal more about the Shattering and the current state of the Lands Between. The plateau is a crucial area for gathering resources, leveling up your character, and finding powerful new equipment before venturing into more dangerous territories.
